The Miracle Plant
An Age-Long Secret Doctors Hide From You
Yeah, moringa is a plant, not just an ordinary plant, it's a unique entity.
Due to its uniqueness, it has decided to introduce itself in an unfamiliar way.
Alright then, shall we?
Getting to know me…
Knock, knock…?
Hi, it’s me “moringa” I’m quite popular, you probably must have heard of me and if not (guess I'm not so popular then).
Once again I’m “moringa Oleifera” . People also call me drumstick tree, miracle tree, horseradish tree or malunggay but for convenience, just call me “moringa.”
I’m a fast growing, medium-sized, drought resistant evergreen tree from the family “moringaceae.” A native of Africa and asia.
My leaves are quite rich in many important nutrients like protein, calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, riboflavin and iron which makes me highly useful in fighting malnutrition.
I’m Proud of Myself!
Just so you know, I’ve been in existence for hundreds of years and I’m one of the most nutritious and medicinal plants in the world.
Another fun part is, all of me (roots, shrub, leaves, flowers, seeds) are edible… Isn't that amazing? Well, probably it’s not to you.
My beauty is a sight to behold even other trees give me accolades.
Have you seen my umbrella-shaped canopy of lush green leaves and fragrant white flowers when it's in bloom? Nah, you definitely need to.
I’m also dependable, I thrive in places where food and water are scarce🤪.
That’s not all, I have quite a lot of ways in which I can be used.
Use Me, I’m All Yours…
My leaves, roots and flowers can be cooked and eaten in different ways. They can be grounded in the form of powder and used in sauces.
My seed is made into oil and used for salad dressing and other general cooking. The oil extracted is also used in making perfumes and other hair and skin care products.
My soft leaves also serve as a source of food for cattle and other farm animals and also used to help other plants grow( can you imagine that🤭) Well, this is all thanks to the plant hormones found in my leaves.
The bark of my tree is also used as a source of dye and timber and can be used to produce fiber for ropes, mats and pulp for paper.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, check this out…
The Unbelievable😱
Do you know? I’m 7 times the vitamin C of orange,
4 times the vitamin A of carrots
4 times the calcium of milk
3 times the potassium of bananas
2 times the protein of yogurt
You Need to See More of Me…
My medicinal benefits are even more of the real deal.
I help in:
Improving eye health.
Fighting bacterial infections.
Prevention of rheumatoid arthritis.
Protection and nourishing skin and hair.
Protecting the liver against nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
Treating medical conditions like diabetes, ear edema, asthma.
Protecting the kidney and preventing formation of kidney stones.
Treating stomach disorders like colon cancer, constipation, peptic ulcers and ulcerative colitis.
Treating anemia and sickle cell disease due to its antioxidant properties, which makes it help remove excess iron.
Treating mood and nervous system disorders like multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, neuropathic pain and depression.
Prevention and treatment of cancer due to the “niazimicin” a compound that suppresses the development of cancer cells that it contains.
Protecting the cardiovascular system because it contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents like “quercetin” which helps prevent lipid formation and inflammation.
Now you agree with me that I’m amazing right?
On a Final Note
With all these breathtaking benefits, I know you must be wishing you had known me earlier, but not to worry, there is always a starting point.
Why not include this superfood in your diet and anticipate the miracle that happens afterwards🥰.
However, if you are on medication or have an underlying medical condition, speak with a medical practitioner to ensure its use is safe for you.
PS: My tiny leaves can save millions of lives so consider “taking me for a healthier you.”😉
